Hello Lifestyle Pioneers,
First of all congrats, in about a day you will have made it to 2022 and you unlock an important achievement: you have so far survived what is the most revolutionary time in the 21st century, all two years of it.
All around us are major shifts in social, technological, cultural, political, medical, scientific, and most of all economic disruptions.
The US government has announced the existence of UFOs even though we don’t know what they are. Our whole financial system is changing because of crypto and decentralized finance. Our past notions of history, gender relations and ethnic identity seems to have shifted overnight. We are living through a global pandemic unlike anything the world has seen since perhaps the Black plague. Most of all we are re-examining our relationship to work and lifestyles.
In the US, it’s called the great resignation. White-collar workers are leaving their corporate jobs and low income workers are not going back to the road jobs either.
Even Goldman Sachs is facing major upheaval from workers leaving or joining crypto companies
Among our younger workers, they are re-examining their concept of ambitions and goals after being disrupted by the pandemic. Hustle Culture is under threat.
Honestly, it’s a bit of a mess narrative wise but the whole franchise has always been both confusing and disconnected because the whole story exists not just in the movie but comics, animation and an online game.
Matrix resurrections is probably the best pandemic movie around, since it was filmed during a pandemic and in many ways was about how the pandemic made many question their lives, values and goals. Coded within its narrative are whole treatises on technology, empowerment and corporate control on both employees and intellectual property. We can awaken from the control of past notions and economic dependency.
To some degree, Crypto and NFT’s give us some opportunity to go beyond the normal status quo.
Instead of the world where we must choose between centralized and decentralized, Matrix Resurrections says we should do both and learn how to make them interoperable. The movie is more meta than Meta because it transcends the fourth wall and asks us to choose both the red and the blue pill together and make it work.
You don’t have to quit your job and change your life overnight. You don’t even have to trade crypto or collect NFTs. You do have to know about them and how the new system works so you can make the choice. That’s why you need to know your NFTs (and crypto too). They are your tools to social and financial freedom for some of us.

This newsletter is also the last one at least for a while as it goes into hibernation in 2022. I would like to say thank you for reading and being part of the journey. I would also like to thank all the people who worked on this project from various organizations. I can truthfully say that from my perspective, I enjoyed working with all of you and I learned a lot myself. I loved writing this newsletter, it was an awesome experience.
